Kylie Jenner's son is about to legally become Aire. Over a month after Jenner announced her one-year-old boy's new name, after initially naming him Wolf, Jenner and her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott have filed to make it official, TMZ reports.

The couple is requesting that his name change from Wolf Jacques Webster to Aire Webster. Note that the pair appear to be dropping the middle name Jacques. Jacques is Scott's real first name, so Aire will no longer have a nominal tribute to his dad.

Coincidentally, and maybe just that, the move comes weeks after Jenner and Scott were reported to have broken up again in January. But there doesn't seem to be any lingering conflict: TMZ wrote that the document filed confirmed both Jenner and Scott approved of the name change.

It's worth noting that many Kardashian-Jenner kids don't have middle names, including Aire's big sister Stormi. It's possibly just consistency for the family.

The document did explain the name change, reading that Jenner and Scott “regret the initial name choice of Wolf Jacques Webster. Now that Petitioners have had the chance to spend time with their baby, they believe the name Aire Webster is a better fit.”

Jenner said so much publicly when she explained that Wolf was no longer her son's name in March 2022. “We just really didn’t feel like it was him,” she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time, which announced the news. “Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere 🙏🏼”

Jenner then explained in September that although the family called her son Aire, his name was still Wolf legally. “His name is still Wolf, his passport is Wolf, but that isn’t gonna be his name,” she said. “We’re just waiting and simmering. We don’t call him Wolf.”

She noted then that the couple wavered on picking a new name. “Well, you know, Travis does—he likes to sometimes, like one day, he’ll be like, ‘Oooh, this name’s kinda cool,’ and like change it again,” Jenner said, suggesting the couple was going to wait until their choice was very finalized before filing paperwork. That time has now finally come, and now the court just needs to sign off on it.
