Actress Kristy Swanson, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, is comparing his controversial tweets telling four Congresswomen of color to “go back” to the “places from which they came” to past criticism of Trump’s skin color.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star tweeted Thursday that “the same people who are screaming racism” and defending the American lawmakers have been “attacking the color of Trumps skin & telling him to Leave since day one!”

Swanson accused the people upset over Trump’s tweets of being the same ones who have “attacked his immigrant wife, her accent & the languages she speaks” as well as Trump’s Jewish daughter and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who both work in his administration.

Trump’s comments prompted action from the House of Representatives, and it was denounced by a few members of his own party.

Of the women he told to return to their countries — Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) — three were born in America. The fourth is a naturalized citizen.

Trump has maintained that his comments were not racist.

Swanson’s defense of Trump stirred up social media, as mentions of Trump tend to do, with his supporters staunchly behind him and his detractors mocking the idea that referring to Trump’s skin color — which is thought to be a tan — is the same as talking about someone’s race.

But Swanson’s words elicited cheers from many.

However, she highlighted a couple of tweets from critics of her own, and she promptly blocked at least one.
