Kristen Stewart's Lock Charm Reminds Us of Our Favorite ’90s Tiffany Necklace — Only Cooler

Kristin Stewart, was that you going through my old jewelry box? It couldn’t have been. Like you would really wear something from Tiffany’s.

But I have to admit: Her necklace gives me flashbacks to sweet 16s and Hebrew school.

When promoting her film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in New York City on Oct. 15, the actress wore a chunky silver chain necklace with a lock dangling from it, reminiscent of the Tiffany & Co. necklace so many girls requested for their birthdays in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The coveted accessory had a nearly identical chain, with a padlock pendant that read, “T & CO.” Of course, Stewart’s had no writing on it, which made it that much more emo. She could have bought it from Tiffany and somehow destroyed the evidence, or she could have taken it off her old journal (in which she wrote Daria-esque thoughts). One will never know, and that’s how Stewart likes it.

If you had this Tiffany accessory, you wore it every day of middle school with pride. And if you didn’t have one, you likely dreamed of it.

But we have a feeling Stewart, known for her demure demeanor and alternative style, never owned this necklace and had no intention of sparking these memories with her jewelry choice. Worn with her bleached blonde hair, seafoam green track pants with gray stripes, black blazer, and black-and-white patterned loafers, her necklace was much cooler than ours ever was.

Still, this isn’t the first time Stewart has channeled the ’90s. Earlier this month, she attended the premiere of her film Certain Women in NYC, and gave the ultimate ’90s beauty throwback with a look so classic of the decade: lipstick that matched her fitted maroon pantsuit.
