From Cosmopolitan

From becoming a vampire to fighting underwater monsters, Kristen Stewart's career has been FULL ON. We're not just talking Twilight (though there is that). She's been on our screens since she was just a child, making her debut in 1999 after being scouted in a school play.

Since then, we've had horror films, we've had emotional moments, and we've even got a Christmas film to look forward to in the shape of The Happiest Season. Consider this your career timeline:

1999: The Thirteenth Year

Stewart was scouted at a school play aged eight, and her first ever role in this film about a teenage merman involved zero lines and a white turtle neck. The best part? You can stream it now on Disney+. She's one of the kids queuing for the water fountain in the school corridor.

2002: Panic Room

There aren't many 12-year-olds who get to work with Jodie Foster and Jared Leto. This very jumpy psychological thriller about a mother and daughter duo whose house is invaded by burglars gave us nightmares for weeks.

2007: Into The Wild

Nine projects later and Stewart found herself starring alongside Emile Hirsch and Vince Vaughn in this multi award-winning adaptation of Christopher McCandless' story (a graduate who hitchhiked to Alaska to live there). Directed by Sean Penn, Stewart played Tracy Tatro, a teenager who meets the nomad in Slab City during his hike across America.

2008: Twilight

Who could forget the film that had us all swearing allegiance to Team Edward or Team Jacob? Stewart played moody Bella Swan, the high schooler torn between a vampire and a werewolf. Three more films followed, but everyone was most interested in the off-screen love saga between Stewart and co-star Robert Pattinson.

2012: Snow White And The Huntsman

The year Twilight came to an end saw Stewart take on Snow White. Sadly the all-star cast (Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth...) didn’t equate to stellar reviews. There was also the delicate matter of those pictures of her kissing the director...

2014: Still Alice

Tear-jerker alert. Stewart took on the serious role of Lydia, daughter of Dr. Alice Howland (Julianne Moore), a 50-year-old woman suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s. Heartbreaking, but beautiful.

2019: Charlie’s Angels

The one where Stewart was a total badass. A ‘feminist reimagining’ of the 2000 film aimed to be more inclusive than ever before, and was a film that Stewart was “really proud of”. Excellent soundtrack too.

2020: Underwater

Someone tick horror movie off the check list. Stewart fought off deadly underwater creatures as the impressive skinhead, Norah Price, after water infiltrates her drilling station miles underwater. A classic tale.

2020: Happiest Season

There’s a new festive film in town. Stewart plays Abby, who plans to propose to her girlfriend over Christmas, only to discover she hasn't come out to her family yet. We’ll be watching with a large Baileys and a box of Quality Street. You?
