Kristen Bell isn’t sudsing up her kids too often, either.

The Veronica Mars star joined her husband Dax Shepard on The View this week, where the couple shared that they’re not big fans of bathing their kids every night. The conversation stemmed from Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast interview with Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, in which the That ‘70s Show stars admitted they wait until they see “dirt” on their kids before bathing them.

As for Shepard and Bell's kids, he told The View hosts that they used to bathe the kids daily as part of a nighttime routine, but then that shifted.

“Somehow they just started going to sleep on their own without their routine,” the Dukes of Hazzard actor shared of daughters Delta, 2, and Lincoln, 8. “We had to start saying like, 'Hey, when was the last time you bathed them?'"

Bell added, “I'm a big fan of waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that's biology's way of letting you know you need to clean it up. There's a red flag. Honestly, it's just bacteria; once you get bacteria you gotta be like, 'Get in the tub or the shower.’”

Fortunately, it seems that pediatricians agree with the couples — to an extent, at least. Dr. Nina Shapiro, director of Pediatric ENT at the Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA and author of The Ultimate Kids' Guide to Being Super Healthy, told Yahoo Life that parents can skip the bath part of their kids’s routine “unless they get especially dirty, such as after a day at the beach, the park or a theme park.”

While this method works for Bell and Shepard, The Good Place alum previously explained to People that she no longer takes advice on raising her children right — nor does she want to give it.

“Plug your ears to everyone else — by the way, including me,” Bell told the outlet. “I get asked parenting advice all the time, and I’m trying my best, so I say what works for my kids, when I’ve found what I think is a hack.”

One hack Bell found is to skip bath time ... at least, once in a while.
