Krispy Kreme Has a New Leprechaun Trap Doughnut That’s Stuffed With Irish Kreme
Krispy Kreme is outdoing itself for St. Patrick’s Day! Last year, the donut shop dyed its Original Glazed treat green for the holiday. Now all of the donuts will get an emerald makeover fit for a leprechaun!
This is the first time ever that Krispy Kreme is going green with every flavor. From March 14 to 17 (yes, they're super limited-edition!), you can get a greenified donut, including Chocolate Iced with green kreme, Cake Batter with green icing, Strawberry Iced with shamrock and green and white sprinkles, Oreo Cookies & Kreme with green icing drizzle, and Chocolate Iced Custard filled with shamrock sprinkles. The glazed treat, dubbed O’riginal Glazed Doughnuts, will also get the green hue again.
You know that Krispy Kreme wouldn’t disappoint us with a new St. Patrick’s Day donut! After all, we had creepy monster donuts for Halloween, Santa, reindeer, and gift donuts for Christmas, and heart-shaped donuts for Valentine’s Day. For this holiday, you can get the Leprechaun Trap Doughnut for a limited time! It’s filled with Irish Kreme-flavored filling and decorated to look like a pot of gold. Only a certain quantity is made each day, so procrastinating is not in your best interest.
“Do you love doughnuts? Leprechauns sure do. They turned all our doughnuts GREEN! We even caught a few, and if you’re lucky, you can catch one too,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a press release.
We always wondered what on the other side of the rainbow (besides a leprechaun’s donut, of course), and we think this is the answer: Krispy Kreme donuts.
