Kourtney Kardashian, 40, is back on the keto bandwagon. (It's the only trendy diet that starts with 'k' after all.) The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has discovered some seriously delicious ways to keep her keto, too.
She shared her friend and chef Sara Motamedi's recipe for a delicious cheesecake on her lifestyle website Poosh. "If you have a sweet tooth, consider this your new favorite dessert—even if you’re not on keto, it’s a true crowd-pleaser," she wrote.
Her beloved dessert includes smart swaps, like monk fruit sweetener, crushed nuts, and unsweetened homemade whipped cream, in place of higher sugar counterparts. The directions come with a disclaimer: "This recipe is not very sweet, so feel free to add sugar according to your preference." That's pretty much a given on keto, but it still looks absolutely delish.
It fits with the ketogenic diet, which is all about minimizing your carbs and upping your fats to get your body to use fat as a form of energy, Scott Keatley, R.D., of Keatley Medical Nutrition Therapy previously told Women's Health.
It's no surprise Kourtney started off her new keto kick by publishing a dessert recipe. She's known for allowing herself cheat days, one per week to be exact. "...when I did the keto diet, I was very strict six days a week and my cheat day was on Sundays," she shared on her site.
