You might not be thinking about Thanksgiving yet, but major retailers are already planning ahead of this year's holiday season amid the ongoing pandemic. Joining Best Buy, Walmart, and Target, Kohl's is the latest retailer to announce that its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

On Wednesday, the department store retail chain said in a statement that it won't be opening its doors on Thanksgiving— which falls on Thursday, November 26 this year— because it expects more customers to shop earlier and online "given the importance of safety and convenience."

"The holiday season is when Kohl’s shines brightest, and as we move into the holiday season of this very unusual year, we are adapting our plans in response to changing customer expectations and behaviors,” Kohl’s chief executive officer Michelle Gass said in a statement. “We are deeply appreciative of how our team of Kohl’s associates have shown up to serve our customers through this pandemic and know that they will continue to show Kohl's at our best throughout the holidays."

If you want to score great deals during the holiday season, you can visit stores ahead of Turkey Day. And, as always, you can shop online at Kohls.com and on the Kohl's app while stores are closed.

The retailer says that more information about holiday hours will be shared at a later time. Want to stay updated on Kohl's holiday news? Check here throughout the season.
