Obviously, we here at Allure have intensely high beauty-product standards — ones that apply even to our favorite celebrities' brands, personal biases be damned. They might not all be our do-or-die favorites, but something tells us Ariana Grande's is going to be very special. That's right; Grande has confirmed that her cosmetics brand, r.e.m. beauty, is, indeed, a thing… and it's hitting virtual shelves quite soon.
When is r.e.m. beauty lanching?
Grande told Allure during our October cover interview that the brand — out this fall — is a collaborative effort with Forma Brands, the beauty incubator responsible for Morphe, the D'Amelio sisters' Morphe 2, and Emma Chamberlain's Bad Habit (read: the company knows its stuff when it comes to product). She also confirmed that product lines from r.e.m. will arrive in a series of "drops" akin to Supreme clothing or a Beyoncé album.
What products will r.e.m. beauty have?
The first of those drops will feature a slew of eye makeup including fine-point eyeliner markers, matte liquid eye shadows, sparkling eye toppers, and at least one mascara. The brand will also offer buttery lipsticks and lip glosses that tingle like a lip plumper (think DuWop’s Lip Venom). Down the line, r.e.m. will also supply false eyelashes shaped in Grande's signature cat-eye shape (which she developed after becoming tired of cutting and customizing her own falsies).
Grande's recent legal paperwork gives us insight into even more products to potentially come. The trademark filing for r.e.m. beauty covers a wide range of makeup products including but not limited to concealer, eye shadow, lipstick, lip gloss, brow pencils and gels, highlighter, and eyeliner. Whew! Considering Grande's signature black cat-eye, we're willing to bet (or at least hoping) that a liquid eyeliner pen will be one of the first products on that roster.
If we know anything, it's that whatever products Grande supplies her fans will be blockbuster hits, if her previous fragrance launches are anything to go by. We'll keep this post updated with every fact we can glean of this launch — in the meantime, keep a very close eye on that Instagram account.
