In 2019, actress Jennifer Lawrence married to Cooke Maroney, a successful, if relatively unknown, art dealer. And in 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, though not much has been shared about the baby publicly. In a recent issue of Vanity Fair, Lawrence said she hopes to "protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can," so don't expect to hear her talk too much about her little one.
In contrast, she has opened up a bit about her husband. Here, what's been shared about Cooke Maroney.
He and Lawrence tied the knot in a star-studded celebration.
The couple said "I do" at the Belcourt of Newport, a historic mansion that dates back to 1894. The guest list reportedly included celebrities like Emma Stone, Kris Jenner, Adele, Amy Schumer, Ashley Olsen, David O. Russel, and Sienna Miller. (Read more about the wedding here.)
Lawrence is definitely into him.
At the premiere for her new movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Jennifer Lawrence gushed about her husband-to-be. "Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life," Lawrence told ET. She added that getting engaged "was a very, very easy decision."
Lawrence also discussed her and Maroney's relationship on the podcast "Naked with Catt Sadler." "I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, I’m ready to get married," Lawrence said. "I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend. I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. You find your favorite person on the planet and you’re like: You can’t leave."
He was raised on a farm in Vermont.

He's done well for himself in the New York art world.
Like his father, Cooke has pursued a career on the business side of art. He's currently the director of Gladstone 64, one of the locations under the umbrella of leading gallery Gladstone. Artists represented by Gladstone include Matthew Barney, Anish Kapoor, and Ugo Rondinone, among many more big names.
"He’s definitely respected. He’s not a big player, but he’s a player," said a source for The Cut. "I’d say he understands what good art is, as opposed to a lot of art dealers who just like to go to parties and do deals."
Lawrence met him through a friend.
It was Jennifer Lawrence's best friend, Laura Simpson, who made the match. A source told Page Six back in June 2018 that "they met through Jen’s friend Laura… The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together."
Cooke reportedly likes to party—or at least he did at one point.
"He’s definitely fun-loving but I wouldn’t say he’s out of control," a source told The Cut. "He likes to have fun, a young good New York guy who likes to participate and have fun. When we would hang out we would definitely drink, we would have fun."
