KKW Beauty's New Classic Eyeshadow Palette Is Being Compared to Kylie Cosmetics

On Thursday, Kim Kardashian announced her latest KKW Beauty drop: A neutral eyeshadow palette.

According to the website, the 10-pan Classic Palette retails for $45 and contains a mix of matte and shimmer shades "formulated specifically for easy layering and blending." (The palette is part of KKW Beauty's new "Classic" collection, which will also include four lipsticks and four lip liners.) And though some KKW Beauty fans are already counting down the days until the July 27 online launch date, others are less than impressed with Kim's newest offerings.

While some KKW Beauty stans seem excited to get their hands on the palette, many of them pointed out that they've seen those versatile, bronze-y shades a million times before — in other brands's palettes. Quite a few Instagrammers took to the comments section of KKW Beauty's initial post to point out these similarities: "This looks extremely similar to Kylie's sorta sweet palette???" one person wrote, while others thought it resembled another one of Kylie's products, her Bronze Extended palette. Other IG users drew comparisons to beauty blogger Laura Lee's Nudie Patootie Morphe palette, leaving comments like "This is literally noodie patootie [sic]." Others likened it to Urban Decay's Naked Heat palette, one of the more recent launches from the collection of neutral palettes to end all neutral palettes.

While these palettes (and countless others) come at a variety of price points and have slight variations in shades, we would've loved to see KKW Beauty take a risk with its newest palette. “Pretty, just not really different,” summed up one commenter. However, if Classic speaks to you, then by all means, hit "add to cart." Neither KKW Beauty nor Kim has publicly weighed in on the criticism, and Teen Vogue has reached out to KKW Beauty for additional comment.
