KIND Healthy Snacks has issued a voluntary recall of one of their products due to undeclared sesame seeds. The recall only affects a limited number of KIND Oats & Honey Granola with Toasted Coconut packages.

While sesame seeds are listed under the "may contain" part of the label, they are not listed under the main ingredients despite being a common allergen. In a press release, KIND explained that sesame seeds were once a part of this particular granola's recipe, but that they are transitioning away from it. The batch of granola that has been recalled used the previous recipe but was sent out in the new packaging that did not include sesame seeds on the ingredient list.

At this time, no allergic reactions from this product have been reported, but KIND still urges those with an allergy to discontinue consumption. The packages that are included in this recall are the 11-ounce pouches with "best by" dates from April 4, 2021 to June 1, 2021 and 17-ounce punches with "best by" dates between April 30, 2021 and June 1, 2021.

At this time, there are no other KIND products impacted by this recall. Packages of the Oats & Honey Granola with Toasted Coconut were manufactured in the United States and distributed to both retail stores and e-commerce sites.

Those with the recalled granola in their possession who can't consume it due to a sesame seed allergy should retain the packaging and contact KIND customer service at customerservice@kindsnacks.com.
