For those unfamiliar with Christine Centenera, think of her as the Grace Coddington of Australia. Somewhat of an icon in the Australian fashion industry, she’s been at the helm of the Vogue fashion department for a number of years. But it’s not her daytime job that brings in the big bucks. According to the Sunday Telegraph, Centenera, who dresses Kim Kardashian West on a freelance basis, is being paid up to $1 million annually to keep the star firmly on best dressed lists around the world.

While Kanye West has widely been credited with changing up his wife’s aesthetic since the pair started dating in 2011, it’s actually Centenera who orchestrated the star’s style makeover. “She just knows every accessory to tie an outfit together. She puts different things together that you wouldn’t think of,” said Kardashian of the fashion director.

I love this @vogueaustralia shoot! Thank you @centenera for styling this so perfectly!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Centenera is also credited with persuading Kardashian to appear on the latest issue of Vogue Australia wearing a decidedly toned-down look. The reality star appears in a series of neutral outfits with dramatic silhouettes and impeccable styling. “I love this @vogueaustralia shoot! Thank you @centenera for styling this so perfectly!” Kardashian wrote on Instagram.

It pays to keep up with Kardashians!
