One of the hottest denim trends of fashion month was undoubtedly the flared leg. Celine and Gucci made the case for groovy, ’70s-style jeans on the Spring 2020 runways—and not long after, celebrities including Margot Robbie, Mark Ronson, and Harry Styles started wearing the voluminous silhouette out on the streets, too. But while the bell-bottom craze is still alive and well in the denim world, leave it to a trendsetter like Kim Kardashian West to bring the silhouette into a more unlikely category: suiting.
Yesterday, the reality star, beauty mogul, and lawyer-in-training attended the Armenia Technology Convention in Yerevan, Armenia—and for her appearance, she went for a monochromatic suit look in stark white leather. The custom outfit, by Rosetta Getty, consisted of a strapless bandeau top and suit, its trousers flared out gently at the bottom, just skimming the floor. To offset her suit’s wide-leg hemline, she then accessorized it with a pointy pair of Yeezy pumps, which added much-needed sharpness, and made her trouser shape feel decidedly more modern. Meanwhile, two gold pendant necklaces and a fistful of gold rings added further refinement. It looks like it might be time to retire both skinny-fit jeans and suit trousers this season.
