One of the biggest celebrity-embraced trends of the season has been the fall maxi skirt. Typically a piece sported during the summer, the breezy, boho-chic skirt, which hits below the knee or skims the floor, has been adapted for the cooler months with the help of sharp styling; stars such as Priyanka Chopra have paired it with a blazer, while others like Jennifer Lawrence have gone for a cool leather jacket.
But leave it to Kim Kardashian West to put a sexier stamp on the look—the reality star-turned-business mogul stepped out in Calabasas, California yesterday with a form-fitting take on the typically loose-fitting item. After all, Kardashian West’s signature fit is a more body-hugging one, so she naturally went for a slinkier style of maxi; hers was in black by Rick Owens, hitting mid calf and featuring a slit. To play up its bodycon silhouette, she then wore it with a sheer cropped top in a snake print, exposing her midriff for a dash of skin. For some clash factor, her strappy mules by Giuseppe Zanotti also had an animal print too, via zebra-print straps. Meanwhile, large gold statement earrings finished off the look—which essentially proved that covering up for fall doesn’t have to mean sacrificing the sexiness that comes with summer dressing.
