Kim Kardashian showed up at the 2019 Emmy Awards wearing a black Vivienne Westwood dress complete with a butt bustle.
Bustles were popular in the 19th century and enhance the size of one's ~derrière~.
Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner showed at at the 2019 Emmy Awards last night, and honestly it didn't go great! Not only did poor Kendall get dragged on Twitter for her outfit—a latex turtleneck and floral dress which I, for one, thought looked amazing—she and Kim were fully laughed at on stage. Watch the moment go down here, but TL;DR they tried to say Keeping Up with the Kardashians was unfiltered and unscripted, and yeah. It didn't go down well.
Anyway, there's no denying that Kimberly looked incredible on the red carpet, wearing a black Vivienne Westwood dress accessorized with some casual stacked diamond necklaces. Understated! But you may have noticed that in profile, her butt looked way more, um, enhanced than usual.
But before you're out here like KiM KArDAshiAn HAd BuTt ImPLAntS, please note that she's actually wearing a casual bustle to make her butt appear bigger.
Here's a closer look:
FYI, a bustle is a pad—often made of gathered fabric—that works to expand the back of a dress, and they were super popular in the 19th century. They were worn under the skirt in the back to lift fabric, and are still common in wedding dresses. Or in Kim's case, red carpet dresses.
