Kim Kardashian Tells Mommy-Shamers to Relax After Posting a Video of Daughter North Putting on Makeup

Since her mom and aunt each own multimillion-dollar beauty companies, it only makes sense that North West would be dabbling in makeup from an early age. On Thursday, Kim Kardashian West shared a few videos on her Instagram Story showing her eldest daughter demonstrating her unique contouring technique. Though North may have a bit more to learn about strobing and blending, she's definitely well on her way to mastering the art of a face beat — and will probably be better with a brush than the rest of us by her sixth birthday.

In the clips, Nori gets up close and personal with the mirror while creating her masterpiece. Her entire nose, naturally, is fully covered in a brightening concealer, while her cheeks are painted with a darker contour color and her forehead is artfully smothered in what appears to be her true foundation shade. Her proud mom, correctly guessing what we're all thinking, captioned one of the videos, "Contour Queen 👑." Eye-wise, North seems to have made the creative choice of leaving her under-eyes completely untouched; instead, she dabbed a powdery blue shadow on her eyelids. She alternates between using a brush and her fingers to blend out the shades, focusing especially on the area around her mouth. Interesting technique.

About an hour later, KKW shared another video of her makeup-loving daughter strapped into her booster seat for a car ride. Though North's expert contour has been washed off her face, she's sporting a bold lip color and playing coy while her mom tries to engage her in conversation. (Classic.) "North wearing shade #6 in the new Classic Blossom Collection," Kim captioned the clip, referring to her brand-new cherry blossom–inspired KKW Beauty line. She also warded off any trolls by adding, "Relax Mom Shamers it's coming off in a few mins. I needed a bribe to get out of the door...you feel me?!?!?!"

In an interview with WWD last year, Kim opened up about North's love of all things beauty. "You know, the other day, it was so funny. My daughter watches so many YouTube tutorials and videos, and she was unboxing the My Little Pony ColourPop collection, and I thought to myself, 'I wish I was recording this,' because her reaction was so funny. And then she did makeup on the My Little Pony that they gave, and she said, 'Mom, I want to do a YouTube video,'" Kim recalled. Don't be surprised when North is a successful beauty blogger before she even hits double digits!
