Kim Kardashian Just Dyed Her Hair Red, and It's Not a Wig

It feels like every other day a new celebrity is dyeing their hair a different color — and this especially rings true for the Kardashian/Jenner crew. Recently, youngest sister Kylie Jenner went blonde only to go pink a few days later, and Khloé Kardashian just traded in her blonde hair for a taste of the brunette life for her birthday. The latest member of the family to switch up their color is Kim Kardashian West, who just dyed her hair red.

The news was casually dropped via — where else? — her Instagram Stories on Monday afternoon. The 39-year-old KKW Beauty founder first posted a selfie video in which she's tilting her head back and forth, and her hair, which is worn up in a ponytail, is very clearly a bold red shade, which is a refreshing departure from the blonde and brown colors we're used to seeing from her. The specific shade of red she went for is a cherry, almost cider-y tone with a copper tint to it.

In a second video clip, Kardashian actually addresses her new hue. "You guys, I dyed my hair red. Do you love it?" she says, her hair worn up in a messy bun with two pieces pulled forward. Of course, we then had to head to Chris Appleton's Instagram, as he's been her go-to hair guy for a while now and is behind every single color you've seen her rep for the past few years.

Sure enough, the L.A.-based hairstylist had posted about Kardashian's new look, too. Alongside both photos Kim K. had shared, his caption reads: "Red head 🍒 it’s NOT a wig before you start with that shit." Fans are already flooding the comment section with messages like, "sir, you killed it," "This shade of red compliments her SO WELL 😱 amazing job as usual, 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽," and "Im so glad to see a color on her that’s not blonde or black! 👏🏽"

As usual, there's no telling how long Kardashian, who's a major hair-color chameleon like the rest of her sisters, will keep this scarlet shade around. Nonetheless, it's really nice to see the star in a color that's unlike what she typically goes for.
