Kim Kardashian dragged for ignoring Kanye West's slavery comment, but sources say she's 'worried'

Tuesday was going so well. Kanye West‘s sit-down with Charlamagne tha God was released and the in-depth interview seemed to offer a glimpse into the rapper’s private life over the past few years. West seemed clear minded and thoughtful, with fans rejoicing that last week’s MAGA-fueled tweetstorm was almost forgotten about. Then TMZ Live happened.

West, 40, sparked outrage after saying slavery “sounds like a choice,” appearing manic in the hourlong appearance. Although Kim Kardashian’s husband tried to walk back the slavery comment, the damage was done for many fans.

Last week, Kardashian, 37, staunchly defended her husband, slamming the media for labeling West erratic and praising his free thinking.

So where does the reality star stand in all of this now?

“No one can watch that appearance yesterday and not be concerned,” a source close to the KarJenners tells Yahoo Entertainment. “Everyone was shocked. There’s a reason Kim tweeted about the Charlamagne interview and nothing about TMZ.”

A second insider adds, “Of course she’s worried, but she will not let on that’s true.”

People also reports the KKW Beauty mogul is concerned behind closed doors. “Kanye is the most amazing person when he’s not acting like this. But when he gets manic, it’s really hard for everyone around him,” a source tells the magazine. “Kim is absolutely worried about him right now, but she will defend him publicly to the end. She’s a very loyal wife, and her tweets and everything she’s been saying is definitely very calculated to help Kanye.”

Kardashian is getting dragged big time on Twitter and Instagram for posting like normal and failing to acknowledge yesterday’s stunning comments.

The Kardashians are pretty much the only ones tiptoeing around West’s on-air meltdown. Jimmy Kimmel laid into the rapper, whom he’s beefed with before.

“For whatever reason, Kanye felt the need to spend a full hour on TMZ Live today to defend his love for Donald Trump and to go off on a tangent not seen since the glory days of Gary Busey on Celebrity Rehab,” the late-night host quipped.

Kimmel played a clip where West ranted about how doctors gave him seven pills to take when he was released from the hospital in 2016.

“Maybe you should be taking eight,” Kimmel said, laughing. “Kim, it’s time to come get your husband.”

CNN’s Don Lemon also skewered West, exclaiming, “He’s embarrassing himself because he doesn’t know history.”

Fans and celebrities took to social media to express their disgust and disappointment at West’s tweets.

West admitted yesterday that he is not taking all the medications he was prescribed by doctors following his 2016 breakdown, which people close to him reportedly believe caused the controversial remark.

The rapper has been unusually quiet today since his return to Twitter, just posting one tweet.

We have a feeling that will change.
