Dearly departed, we are gathered here today to mourn the end of BBC America’s cult-favorite spy thriller Killing Eve. No, your eyes aren’t failing you—you read that correctly. Villanelle, in all her murderous glory, and our delightfully naive heroine Eve’s cat-and-mouse chase will end with the fourth and final season.

At the start of 2020, Killing Eve extended its lease for a fourth season, but COVID restrictions caused delays in production. According to Variety, Killing Eve will resume filming this summer and in true KE fashion, the show will be filmed in the U.K. and several locations across Europe. A premiere date for the fourth and final season has not yet been set.

Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve’s remarkable mind soon,” lead actress Sandra Oh told the outlet. “I’m so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season.”

Comer adds: “Killing Eve has been the most extraordinary journey and one that I will be forever grateful for. Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported us throughout and come along for the ride. Although all good things come to an end, it’s not over yet. We aim to make this one to remember!”

The fourth and final season doesn't mean we're saying goodbye to our beloved characters just yet. Variety reports that AMC Networks and Sid Gentle Films Ltd, the companies behind Killing Eve, have plans to potentially develop spinoffs around the Killing Eve characters.
