So, you've rapidly devoured Season Two of Who Killed Sara? and now you're wondering, wait, what just happened? Just like when audiences tore through Season One back in March, the Mexican thriller jumped to No 1. again this week with millions of fans eager to come back for more. The series has broken new ground on Netflix, becoming the most popular non-English language show the streaming giant has ever seen.

The eight episodes of Season Two can feel confusing at points, as scenes are replayed from different perspectives and information is revealed little by little, all to keep us on our toes. But just when we might've thought the show couldn't get any more disturbing—what with the murder and the sex trafficking ring in Season One—the crime thriller has returned with even darker turns.

And yet, the million dollar question remains: who killed Sara? If it only it were that easy. Because it feels like we're on the hundredth red herring at the end of Season Two, and it leaves a lot of room for Season Three to take the show to even wilder heights. So when will we get more of the story? Here's everything we know about Season Three of Who Killed Sara?.

Has Who Killed Sara? Been Renewed for a Season Three?

Yes! At the very end of the Season Two finale credits, a message says, "It's Official: Another Season is Coming." Beyond that, there's no word from Netflix on the renewal or when the new season would come out. But rest assured, with Who Killed Sara? on the top of Netflix's streaming charts once again, the streaming service is likely to announce more details of the show's renewal soon. If a new season is confirmed, it would likely be released later this year or in early 2022. Check back here for updates about the fate of the new season.

What would Season Three be about?

Well, the titular question of course. Plus much, much more. In the Season Two finale, we see flashbacks that reveal who really cut the ropes the day that Sara fell to her death in the parasailing accident. It was Marifer! Sara's secret half-sister. But then, in the final minutes of the episode, we see Nicandro in the shadows, on the phone with someone whom he calls "Doctor." He says Alex and everyone thinks Marifer killed Sara, and that they can't know that he and the doctor are the true killers. What does this mean? Could this be a medical and/or drug testing treatment gone wrong story? Could the whole crime be much bigger than Sara?

As for the rest of the characters, Elisa took a terrifying and surprising turn in the finale when she set fire to her family casino, and became trapped in the engulfing flames until Alex came to save her. Her arson suggests a rebirth of sorts, literally burning down her family's legacy because it's a legacy of harm and destruction. So where can she go from here? Can she and the Lazcanos start anew, and be good?

Carolina Miranda, the actress who plays Elisa, recently talked with Esquire about her character's arc and where she'd like to see Elisa go in a potential Season Three. "Thinking about Elisa, I would like that Elisa becomes crazy and discovers everything, and now she can be the bad character in the story and she loses all the justice and the truth, and the good person that Elisa is," Miranda said. "It could be interesting to see the other side of Elisa, that it's not always a good person. It could be the bad person in the third season."

That's the thing about Who Killed Sara?. Every character has another side to them, and we don't know who's going to show their inner monster next. All could be revealed in a new season of Who Killed Sara?.
