Even with a world to save from Daddy Satan and a boyfriend literally stuck in Hell, Sabrina Spellman has managed to make her way to Riverdale. The newest season of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina recently hit Netflix, and as fans watch, and copy every Weird Sisters look, an important Riverdale crossover moment has been confirmed.
In the blink-and-you-might-miss-it scene, Sabrina pays a quick visit to Cheryl Blossom, Elle reported. For those still making their way through the new season, the moment occurs in the third episode. During a quest from the underworld, Sabrina goes to Riverdale, and her trip requires a brief stop at the Blossom family maple syrup farm. No spoilers here, but things don't go exactly as planned, and Riverdale residents may want to check their forests because some hellish residents are probably living in the trees. (Then again, demons in trees might be the least of Riverdale's problems.)
Unfortunately, Cheryl is nowhere to be found during the trip, but Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka confirmed that the scene occurs in the same universe and timeframe as the current Riverdale airing on the CW. "Yeah, I think they exist in the same time," she told Elle. "That's for sure."
Kiernan's theory is supported by the appearance of a Southside Serpent gang member in another episode.
Although the crossover doesn't completely bring the characters together, Kiernan hinted that more might be in store for fans, telling Elle that Sabrina "definitely gets closer to Riverdale this year." The Sabrina star didn't offer more details, but a future crossover episode wouldn't be out of the question.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creator of Riverdale, CAOS, and Katy Keene, recently shared details of a Riverdale and Katy Keene crossover, and those involved with the series have been known to drop subtle hints to parallel universes throughout episodes.
