Do you have some serious pore problems? Well, skin care TikTok (unsurprisingly) has a solve for your woes. Skin care lovers on the platform are singing the praises of Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask, highlighting the product’s pore-minimizing power and blackhead-banishing capabilities. The mud mask, which is one of Kiehl’s top-selling products, promises to smooth and detoxify skin and absorb oil. And those promises aren’t empty, according to TikTok.
“Everyone has a favorite mud mask,” popular TikTok user @tinx said in a video about the product. “The Kiehl’s one is mine. It annihilates your pores.”
But fans of the mask aren’t isolated to TikTok. The popular cleansing mask has a 4.7 star rating on Ulta (with more than 400 reviews) and a 4.8 star rating on Sephora (with more than 500 reviews and 115,400 loves). Even dermatologists are singing the product’s praises.
“While it’s impossible to actually shrink your pores, the Kiehl’s clay mask can visibly reduce their appearance because it has Amazonian white clay that helps lift oil and dead skin cells from your pores,” Dr. Muneeb Shah, known as @dermdoctor on TikTok, told his 17.6 million followers in a video. “It’s also fragrance-free and has allantoin to help soothe the skin.”
According to Healthline, allantoin is a potent skin care ingredient that hydrates, mildly exfoliates and soothes inflamed skin. It’s particularly great for those who struggle with dry or irritated skin.
The Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask also contains soothing aloe and bentonite clay, which unclogs pores and makes skin soft and supple, according to the brand.
In a separate video on how to use a clay mask like a dermatologist, Dr. Shah says they’re best used once a week to prevent drying out the skin. After cleansing and drying the skin, Dr. Shah says to apply the mask in a generous layer. After waiting five to 10 minutes, you can wash it off and apply the rest of your skin care products as normal.
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask retails for $45 for 4.2 ounces of product.
