With a long stretch left to go before the hiatus ends between the first half of Yellowstone season 5 and the second half, premiering this summer, fans of the hit show are understandable anxious for any news of what's to come for their favorite ranching family. And while there may not have been any new episodes recently, there has been plenty of fuel on the fires of speculation, with rumors swirling that the show could be coming to a close.

In early February, Deadline reported that the Paramount Network original could end in the near future (although whether that would be at the end of season 5, or perhaps after an as-yet-unannounced season 6 wasn't clear), citing claims that "disagreements over shooting schedules," with the show's star, Kevin Costner, were at the heart of decision. In particular, they reported per unnamed sources, that Costner—who recently received the Golden Globe for his work on the series—only wanted to spend 50 days filming for the first half of season 5, and only one week for the second half. Now, Costner's attorney, Marty Singer, has responded, roundly denying the claims.

"The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie," Singer told Puck News. “It’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second." He added, "As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success."

The statement follows Paramount Network's denial of the original rumors. "We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come," a spokesperson responded to the Deadline piece in early February.
