This week has been all about throwback moments for celebrities. First, Lucy Hale shared an adorable photo from her childhood when she had a bob with bangs, and then January Jones posted several shots from her formative years, including a few from that time she had a mullet. Now, Kerry Washington is following suit: On Friday, November 15, the actress shared an iconic photo from high school, and fans are freaking out for several reasons.
For starters, the Scandal actress revealed that she played Ophelia in her high school's rendition of Hamlet, which is iconic enough in itself. The revelations get even better, though. In her caption, Washington writes, "This is also me, with my best attempt of the “RACHEL” hair-do that had swept the globe. Thanks @JenniferAniston!!!" And it's no joke: Taking a closer look, you can see that Washington's hair was flipped up at the ends and angled in the front, just how Aniston's hair was in the '90s.
As expected, fans immediately went into a frenzy over the throwback photo. They took to the comments, leaving messages like, "Love it 😊," "U haven't changed one bit 😍," and "I would have done anything to see a Black Ophelia." Additionally, fellow celebs like Tracee Ellis Ross expressed love for the photo, too.
It's rare that Washington shares throwback shots from her childhood, so needless to say, this was a real treat. Here's hoping she shares more down the line.
