Kendall Jenner Brings ’90s Supermodel Vibes to New York Fashion Week

Kendall Jenner has been loving vintage fashion lately. The model kicked off the archival Jean Paul Gaultier craze earlier this year; soon after she wore a top by the French designer from the ’90s, it didn’t take long for all of her fellow Kardashian-Jenner sisters to follow suit. It’s only natural, then, that the model is bringing her throwback aesthetic to New York Fashion Week, too. Last night, Jenner hit the Manhattan streets in a vampy Versace number that paid homage to ’90s supers (think Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford—the greats).

While Jenner’s Versace dress is not vintage itself, the sexy piece is unique to her; it appears to be custom, though its hot-pink lace trimming and scarf-style print detail is similar to dresses shown in the brand’s recent Fall 2019 show. Given the frock is a statement on its own, Jenner then accessorized minimally (though her leopard-printed mules, with glittery straps, added just the right amount of clash). Her ensemble made for a modern, fresh take on the Versace dresses that supermodels wore around town during the late designer’s nineties heyday.

To take things further, Jenner’s agent, Ashleah Gonzales, also posted an Instagram of herself with the model in an equally-punchy Versace look: she wore a head-to-toe floral outfit, complete with a skin-tight dress and printed tights. “Romy & Michelle’s high school reunion,” Gonzales wrote in the caption. Yet another nod to the ’90s—and it’ll be Fashion Week’s matchy-matchy moment to beat for sure.
