Kendall Jenner Addresses Photoshopped Black Lives Matter Photo

Kendall Jenner has responded to claims she photoshopped an image of herself holding a fake Black Lives Matter sign.

The photograph, which looked like a screenshot from the model's Facebook page, began circulating on social media this week. It showed the star wearing a face mask and standing in front of a black sports car while holding the sign above her head.

People noticed that the photo didn't seem real as the sign was not visible in her shadow on the ground. They suggested that the 24-year-old had edited it herself as protests continue around the world in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

However, Jenner responded to the backlash and clarified that the image had not come from her. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, she said, "This is photoshopped by someone. I DID NOT post this."

Many defended the star and managed to uncover the original photo, which shows her without the face mask and holding a water bottle, not a sign, in the air.

Earlier this week, Kendall voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement, sharing images on Instagram and explaining that she is working to be a better ally to the black community.

"To everyone reading this and to myself: keep researching, reading, and educating yourself on how we can become better allies," she wrote. "I will never personally understand the fear and pain that the black community go through on a daily basis, but I know that nobody should have to live in constant fear. I acknowledge my white privilege and promise I will continue to educate myself on how I can help."

The model vowed to have "uncomfortable conversations with people and mainly with ourselves," and to vote when the time comes. The caption ended with a dedication to George Floyd, whose horrific death started the worldwide protests, saying "Rest peacefully George Floyd and all victims of this horrible injustice."
