The CMT Awards are happening June 9 (Wednesday night) and—big news—Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown are co-hosting. Naturally, both are up for some big awards, too. She scored three nominations for "Hole in the Bottle," btw.

Kelsea last appeared onstage at the Academy of Country Music Awards back in April, so it’s been a minute since she's made a public appearance. (I can't wait to see what sparkly new ensembles she puts together for the occasion.) One person who is guaranteed to be cheering her on during her hosting gig? Her husband, Morgan Evans. Award shows are pretty important to this country couple. (More on that in a sec.)

But…who is Morgan, again? Here’s everything you need to know about Kelsea’s S.O. and their adorable relationship:

Kelsea's husband is a musician, too.

There’s a lot of musical talent running around this family! Morgan dropped his debut country music album in 2018, and is about to go on tour this summer. Morgan was also named one of Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music last year.

Morgan told People when he dropped his first album that he and his wife hadn’t written any music together. “It’s crazy. We’ve worked on a couple things a little bit, like giving each other advice on sections of my songs or her songs, but we’ve never sat down with a blank page and two guitars,” he said.

That changed with his second album, Things That We Drink To, in October, which includes a sweet song with Kelsea called "Dance With Me."

Kelsea and her husband met during an awards show.

Kelsea and Morgan actually met while co-hosting Australia's Country Music Channel Awards in 2016. They hung out after the show and even did shots together.

"He was like, 'Let's take a shot,'" Kelsea told People. "I remember taking that shot and putting it down and looking at him like, 'Oh…he's super hot.' Later that night he leaned over and asked if he could kiss me, like a proper gentleman, and I said yes."

They got married in 2017.

Kelsea and Morgan dated for nine months before he popped the question on Christmas Day in 2016. He proposed with pancakes and a custom ring. "It was just right," he told People.

A year later, they exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. "With our careers, we get to do what we love, then we get to find time to be with who we love," Kelsea told the publication at the time. "I think that makes for a really full life—when you can do everything that you want, and then share it with someone."

Kelsea and Morgan try to meet up on the road.

Morgan and Kelsea are busy touring musicians, but they try to catch each other on the go here and there. Sometimes, they even surprise each other onstage. "It's a cool thing to be able to do with your wife," Morgan told E! News in 2018. "We did it for the first time at her show at the Ryman Auditorium [in Nashville] for Valentine's Day, and then we did it one time in Columbus when I was on the road with Chris Young this year."

Morgan is super supportive of his wife.

Need evidence? Just peep his Instagrams for his cheerleading chops.

“So stoked for her. So proud of her. That performance was magical! #acmawards,” Morgan wrote of Kelsea after the ACMs earlier this year.

And this:

Kelsea and Morgan live in the 'burbs of Nashville.

The couple moved into their first “real” home together during the pandemic, after living in a Nashville apartment. "We have been in an apartment since we got married,” Kelsea told People last year. “It's a big pain to go from downtown Nashville to the 'burbs, but it's so good for us, especially this year, just to have a little more space, to not hear the interstate and not hear the bachelorette parties. It's been good for us to start settling in."

Morgan wants kids, but not for a while.

Morgan told Entertainment Tonight at the 2019 Country Music Association Awards that he and Kelsea want a family at some point, but they’re OK with waiting a little.

“I feel like everyone around us is having babies right now. It’s unbelievable, even on the red carpet there’s babies,” he said. “We’re a little ways off from that, but we do very much look forward to that.”

Evans joked that being an aunt and uncle to friends’ kids is “great,” and “a little bit of birth control.”
