I am not sure about you, but since we all started spending more time at home, my "morning routine" basically doesn't exist. I roll out of bed a few minutes before starting work (please don't tell my boss) and wear whatever looks clean. However, two people who can't afford to ditch their morning routine are talk show hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest.
The Live With Kelly And Ryan co-hosts appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, guest-hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco, this past Wednesday. When asked about his routine before the show, Ryan said that he gets up frequently throughout the night because he's worried his 4:30 a.m. alarm won't go off (that's 4:30 a.m. EASTERN time though he's actually on the west coast). It sounds like his routine hasn't changed much in quarantine, but it does involve him being very hydrated.
"It starts with a tea, and two very strong coffees with nothing in it," Ryan said. "And then I arrive, and Kelly has seen all of these different fluids, I have a matcha tea, I have water, I have coffee, hibiscus and chamomile, all kinds of things that I sip on during the show. But not bourbon." (The bourbon was a reference to an earlier joke, just FYI.)
In case you thought Ryan was done with liquids, he said for dinner, he also has a green juice. Kelly, who also said she gets up at 4:30 a.m., joked that she has a very different diet than Ryan described and like many of us, has been basically living off of carbs during the pandemic.
“Unlike Ryan, I eat solid food, I am not on an all-liquid diet. I am on an all-carbohydrate diet,” Kelly said with a laugh. “That’s what’s changed during the pandemic.”
That is certainly a change from earlier this year when Kelly said that she avoids all "chewing foods" before the show, simply opting to drink and take supplements, as well as a large coffee with ghee. What can they say! These two love their liquids, I guess?
