Kellogg’s New Elf On The Shelf Cereal Tastes Like Hot Cocoa With Marshmallows
Elf on the Shelf has become a Christmas tradition for many families. Not only is it fun for kids, but it gives them a reason to be on their best behavior — for the sake of Santa Claus’ gifts. Kellogg’s is getting in on the fun with its third cereal inspired by the interactive tool for the 2021 holiday season.
Kellogg’s first released Elf on the Shelf cereal in 2019. The combination of sugar cookie flavor and marshmallows screamed “holiday,” wouldn’t you agree? Then, last year, the brand introduced a Candy Cane Cookie with Marshmallows variety to bring the peppermint taste. This new option, however, was modeled after the classic winter sip: Hot chocolate.
The new The Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa Cereal is exactly what it sounds like, so you can’t possibly go wrong. The limited-edition cereal features cocoa-coated star pieces that are mixed with mini marshmallows. When combined with milk in a bowl, it’ll be like you’re sipping a mug of hot cocoa (but in a much more breakfast-approved way). Just imagine how that chocolatey milk is going to taste once you’ve gobbled up all the cereal.
“For the third consecutive year, we’re bringing the magic of the holiday season to the breakfast table so families can celebrate the holidays with their Scout Elf pals over a delicious spoonful of Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookie or a combination of both,” Laura Newman, senior marketing director of Kellogg All Family Cereal, said in a press release.
Oh, and did we mention that in addition to introducing the new hot cocoa variety, Kellogg’s is also bringing back its sugar cookie cereal? Once again, you can enjoy the red and green start pieces with mini marshmallows. Plus, it’s dusted with edible glitter, so it’s an exciting way to start the day.
You’ll be able to snag The Elf on the Shelf Hot Cocoa Cereal exclusively at Walmart, and The Elf on the Shelf Sugar Cookie Cereal will be available in stores nationwide and online. These limited-edition cereals come in 8.1- and 12.2-ounce boxes for $3.99 to $5.69. We can already tell we’re going to want seconds … of both.
