Kellie Pickler's Husband's Cause of Death Confirmed

New information has come to light regarding the death of Kellie Pickler's late husband, Kyle Jacobs.

Jacobs, who was aged just 49, died unexpectedly at the pair's Nashville home on Feb. 17, in what has now been confirmed as a suicide.

Toxicology results revealed that there were no drugs in Jacobs' system at the time of his death, though he had a "history of pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use," per a document obtained by Taste of Country.

The new information comes almost three months after Jacobs was found dead by Pickler, 36, and her assistant in the upstairs level of their home.

Metro Nashville Police previously told TMZ, "Mr. Jacobs' wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him."

"After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911," the statement continued.

As Parade previously reported, the cause of death was initially suspected to be suicide, though it had not been confirmed until now.

Jacobs—who married Pickler in 2011—starred alongside his wife in the reality show I Love Kellie Pickler, which ran for three seasons on CMT. Jacobs also worked in the music industry, writing songs for a slew of other country stars, including Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks and more.

Pickler has not spoken publicly about her husband's death, and has since stepped down from her role as a DJ on SiriusXM's The Highway.
