Keanu Reeves and His Artist Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Make a Buzzy Red Carpet Appearance

Keanu Reeves, Hollywood’s most beloved nice-guy actor with the perfect amount of scruff, stepped out this past weekend at the Gucci-hosted LACMA Art + Film event in Los Angeles, holding hands with his girlfriend, artist Alexandra Grant. The actor went the classic route in an impeccably tailored gray three-piece suit but added a modern wildcard thanks to a pair of brown suede hiking-style boots. As for Grant, her ensemble was equally statement-making. The silver-haired Los Angeles-based artist wore a navy blue dress with diving décolletage. It was embellished with three bands of gems across the bust that made for a stunning Grecian effect.

While the Internet may be buzzing about this specific Reeves and Grant moment, this is far from the first time that the two have been seen together. (They collaborated in 2011 and in 2016 on the picture books Ode to Happiness and Shadows.) In their public appearances, the pair have historically shared an understated and elegant sense of style. For example, for the Museum Of Contemporary Art Benefit in May, Reeves wore a suit and tie along with the same hiking boots from the LACMA event. (He’s an outfit repeater, too!) Grant opted for a refined full-sequined dress. Back in July at the Saint Laurent Spring 2020 show, Reeves and Grant were polished when they both wore all black. Reeves went for a simple blazer and jeans and Grant sported a short black sleeveless dress with a sequined bomber and over-the-knee-boots.

Grant, who is an accomplished artist specializing in painting and sculpting, seems to have a grounded wardrobe. Her footwear choices are relaxed: Whether she is on her personal Instagram posing next to a painting or on the red carpet, she typically wears flats or low-heeled shoes. And more often than not, during her downtime, she’s in jeans and a T-shirt, which is not too far from Reeves’s own laidback style. Considering that many couples do indeed mimic each other’s style, it makes perfect sense that Reeves and Grant have paired up quite chicly in their own easygoing way.
