Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom posted a little song on Wednesday, October 28, about voting and dedicated it to their daughter, Daisy Dove.

Perry may be the pop star in the family, but both she and Bloom leant their vocals to this tune. “Rise and shine and get to the polls now,” Perry kicks off. Then Bloom croons, “Vote in person, not with the mail-in ballot.”

“Now's the time to vote in person,” Perry belts. “People of the United States!”

An effective bop, if you ask me. Perry and Bloom both hope it incentivizes people to actually get out there and vote.

“This is for the future generations, by the way,” Bloom says, before revealing who the song is dedicated to. “This little ditty is going to be for Daisy Dove.”

Perry added, “For Daisy Dove! We just wanted to say good morning and remind you that your vote matters. Head to the polls. We’ve already voted. I’ve voted.”

“I can’t vote,” Bloom clarified. “But I’m asking all of you to do it for my Daisy Dove. Thank you very much.”

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom welcomed Daisy Dove in late August. The couple announced her arrival—along with her name—on UNICEF’s Instagram feed. (They’re goodwill ambassadors for the organization, which provides humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide.)

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they told UNICEF. “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of health care workers and every 11 seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines, and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”

Reminder that Election Day is November 3. Go! Vote!
