Katy Perry just dressed as a mermaid and it's iconic

If you grew up desperate to wake up with a tail one day like the mermaid girls from H2O, then prepare to experience it vicariously through Katy Perry, who's living out all of our dreams right now.
Yep, just when you thought Katy's fancy dress looks couldn't get any more iconic, she's outdone herself with her latest look: a full-body mermaid tail.
The costume comes as part of Katy's campaign with Resorts World Las Vegas, with the full-length tail pics shot by her photographer Rony Alwin.
In the photos posted to Alwin's Instagram, Katy can be seen lying back on a chair to show off the full extent of her, erm, tail. The blue and gold scales stretch up into a strapless bodice - and we have to admit it looks very realistic (not that we've ever actually seen a mermaid tail IRL before).
Katy completed her look with perfect mermaid beach waves (obviously). Just don't ask us how she managed to walk around...
Alwin posted the snaps on Instagram with the caption "🐟 out of 💦", while Katy went pun-heavy with hers, writing, "A tuna behind the scenes of our very soFISHticated @resortsworldlv 🐟💦 splash 💦🐟".

Katy also shared a video promo for Resorts World Las Vegas, which she features in alongside the likes of Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood, and we can see more of the mermaid tail in action.
Among other fantasy scenes, the video sees mermaid Katy chilling on a rock surrounded by all of her treasures - just like Ariel. Reckon we can bag her a cameo in the Little Mermaid reboot?
She certainly looks the part.
Katy, if you're after a second job we're sure Disneyland will be thrilled to have you.
