Holmes's ensemble included a leather slipdress from Chloé that featured lace-like embroidery and delicate cutouts all along the neckline, torso, and skirt. She paired the statement dress with more black pieces, including a black double-breasted blazer, black leather mules from Acne Studios, and a black leather shoulder bag. As for accessories, Holmes opted for a simple gold oval pendant necklace and asymmetrical earring huggies.
The Rare Objects director was photographed at the event alongside Family Equality CEO Stacey Stevenson, as well as designer Zac Posen, Blondie lead singer Deborah Harry, and dancer Harrison Ball.
Holmes is known for her minimalist yet refined approach to street style.
She last incorporated leather into her outfit during an appearance at Mikimoto's 130th anniversary party last month, where she layered a sleek leather coat by Tove over a white midi-length shirt dress by Simkhai, the latter of which included round crochet embellishments on the sides. To finish the look off, she tied it all together with a pair of slouchy black leather boots from Staud.
Holmes previously talked to BAZAAR.com about her personal fashion philosophy when it comes to getting dressed.
"We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I'm like, 'Well, I just like to look nice, I'm not really a fashion person.' We all just want to look good," she says.
