Katie Holmes embraced Hot Girl Summer like no other this year. She wore a matching bra and cardigan set, she rocked cutouts in Capri and she even forwent a shirt with overalls. Now, with fall closing in, the 40-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum is turning heads at New York Fashion Week.
Holmes stepped out yesterday in a fall-perfect ensemble that we can’t wait to rock once it cools down a bit. Sitting front row at the Elie Tahari spring 2020 runway show, held at Spring Studios, Holmes wore pieces from the line’s fall 2019 collection with aplomb.
As you’ll notice above, the newly single Holmes opted for the Elie Tahari Fei sweater ($448) in antique, which features Merino wool cable knit and nice big pockets. She layered a light-wash denim Levi’s Western button-down ($45) and the Elie Tahari Netta long-sleeve knit T-shirt ($78) underneath for a laid-back luxe look.
Her pants, however, were the real showstoppers. Holmes rocked the 100% lamb leather Roxanna legging from Elie Tahari ($998) paired with pointed-toe black booties. Set against her comfy cardigan and vintage-inspired denim top, Holmes’s leather leggings brought an element of badassery to her ensemble.
Her boots matched the trousers so seamlessly that it almost looked like they were one, really hard to get into piece.
Holmes accessorized her getup with delicate gold bracelets and her go-to gold pendant. Her sleek bob curled up at the ends in a way that looked more NYFW chic than ’50s housewife and her makeup looked minimalistic and pulled together.
Overall, Katie Holmes gets a New York Fashion Week A+ and it’s only just begun.
