Is it 1970 or 2019? One of fall’s biggest trends is making it hard to tell. Wide-leg trousers, inspired by the groovy bellbottoms of the ’70s, are making a serious comeback this season. They’ve already been sported by stars such as Harry Styles and Margot Robbie, among others. Another well-dressed celebrity who’s on board with the proposed voluminous silhouette? Katie Holmes, who rocked the pant in New York City this weekend.
Holmes, who has been serving a number of winning style moments over the past few months, wore a pair of checked trousers by Khaite (her most-worn label of the moment), which were flared at the bottom. She offset its wider shape with sharp pointy pumps, bringing the throwback piece into the now. Overtop, she styled it with a graphic tee and a chic navy overcoat, making for an effortless, dressy-casual vibe that’s perfect for running errands. Guess it’s safe to say skinny jeans are officially a thing of the past.
