Kathryn Hahn Knows Where Agatha Harkness Could Go in the MCU
WandaVision was great, sure. Marvel's grand foray into Disney+ resulted in some much-needed face-time with Wanda Maximoff and Vision. We want more of it, even if we probably-most-definitely won't. But you already know the real breakout star of the show, right?
Yep. Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness. In what was the show's biggest twist, Wanda's nosy neighbor Agnes turned out to be the Big Bad of WandaVision, kidnapping her twins and showing that her manic-chaotic energy had some evil behind it. At the end of WandaVision, Wanda gives Agatha a tap on the head and brainwashes her back into thinking she's Agnes—trapping her in Westview. Of course, remember that this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where no one ever truly goes away. Thanks to a new interview with Gold Derby, Hahn confirmed that she's willing to return as Agatha in the MCU—even if she hasn't received the call to return yet.
"Of course I would be willing to come back. I've heard nothing," Hahn said. "I know Jac [Schaeffer] and everybody was very clear that this was going to be a one and done situation. And the season finale was 'The Season Finale,' which I think was so brilliant, and I was so satisfied with it as a whole."
Of course, even if Hahn did get the call, she likely wouldn't be able to disclose it in an interview quite yet. But if she is telling the truth, we can rule her out of appearing in Wanda's next romp in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which would be a bit of a bummer. Regardless, Hahn seems to already have a future for Harkness in mind, going on to explain that she'd be interested in exploring the character's centuries-old history.
"If I were to ever come back, there's so many aspects of her that I think are fascinating. She touches in so many different worlds throughout the comics," Hahn continued. "You know, she's a centuries-old witch and has seen a lot, and there's a lot of different people and beings that she's crossed paths with over the last couple of centuries, so that would be a blast to explore."
