Kate Middleton's new shiny gold necklace had a very special meaning
Even when she's working, Kate Middleton's children aren't very far from her mind!
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on Wednesday in Cardiff, Wales, to promote her latest initiative in support of early childhood development, 5 Big Questions. The 38-year-old was one fashionable mom in a Zara leopard print skirt and camel coat combo during her visit to a baby sensory class at Ely and Careau Children’s Centre — but it was her sparkly gold necklace that caught our eye.
While the royal normally opts for more subdued and daintier pieces of jewelry, the mother of three spiced things up for this week's engagement with a personalized necklace from jewelry designer Daniella Draper.
The Gold Midnight Moon Necklace, which reportedly retails for £1,070, was engraved with the letters G, C and L in honor of Kate's three children. The inscription was also surrounded by stars.

"The moon is universally representing the rhythm of time as it embodies the cycle. The phases of the moon symbolise immortality, eternity and enlightenment," Draper explains on her website.
The duchess' latest initiative aims to generate conversation on early childhood nationwide to bring about "positive, lasting change for generations to come."
"I want to hear the key issues affecting our families and communities so I can focus my work on where it is needed most," Kate explained.
"I’m here today to help launch a survey to hear society’s views about raising the next generation. Parents, carers and families are at the heart of caring for children in the formative years so that is why I want to listen to them."
