Kate Middleton Went Out in a Chic Red Houndstooth Dress for Victoria and Albert Museum Visit

Kate Middleton returned to the royal event circuit today, visiting London's Victoria and Albert museum on the first day of its reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a red houndstooth Alessandra Rich dress for the occasion with a black mask and black buckle heels. She wore her hair down, sleek and straight.

The outing comes after Kate and her husband Prince William went out last week for a joint event at The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton. The couple matched in navy:

This is Kate's second museum visit in May. Earlier this month, the Duchess visited the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate the launch of their photo essay book Hold Still, featuring photos submitted by UK citizens documenting their life during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kate began that day by hiding a copy of the book on the Kensington Palace grounds. The Kensington Palace team shared a video of her hiding a book on its Instagram. “Let the search begin!” they wrote. “We’ve joined @bookfairies_uk for the day to share copies of Hold Still around the UK with you. Each copy is adorned with a gold book fairy sticker, gold ribbon, and has a letter from The Duchess tucked inside. To make this activity even more special, book fairies, the Hold Still judges and participants of the final 100 images are leaving copies at places that gave them hope during the lockdown. This special book documenting the unique collection of photographs goes on sale today in UK bookshops and online.”
