Kate Middleton is back to work.

The Duchess of Cambridge has kept a low profile over the last two months as she's been on summer holiday with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Today, however, the duchess returned to royal duty, paying a visit to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and meeting with those who helped evacuate Afghan refugees during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

For her return to the public eye, the duchess wore a classic ensemble that included a cream-colored blazer by Reiss, a white crew-neck sweater, and wide-leg navy trousers. She accessorized with a prim beige mini bag from brand Tusting, pointed-toe pumps, and silver earrings. Her makeup was fresh and minimal, and she wore her hair in a sleek blowout.

During her visit, Kate met with both military members and civilians who were directly involved in the evacuation efforts, including RAF aircrew and medics who helped evacuees at the Kabul airport and volunteers who helped provide key supplies to those arriving in the United Kingdom.

The Duchess of Cambridge wasn't the only member of the royal family who paid tribute to military personnel this week. Kate's brother-in-law Prince Harry teamed up with First Lady Jill Biden for a virtual event on Monday honoring this year's Warrior Games. The annual sports event is produced by the U.S. Department of Defense and celebrates the "resiliency and dedication of wounded, ill, and injured active duty and veteran U.S. military service members."
