Princess Charlotte is about to turn 8 years old! As perhaps an early birthday present, her mom Kate Middleton took her and friends to the Saturday evening performance of Cinderella by the Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada at the Royal Opera House in London.

One audience member tweeted, "First visit to @TheRoyalOpera in @CoventGardenLDN to see #Cinderella. Wonderful ballet with fabulous performances by a great cast. And who should be in the audience? The Princess of Wales with Princess Charlotte and her friends."

This is not the first time the Princess of Wales has taken her daughter to the ballet; in 2018, she brought Charlotte to a rehearsal performance of The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House. Previously, Kate has shared that Charlotte "absolutely loves" dancing, and Prince William has also said, "My daughter Charlotte loves dancing."

As the event was not a public outing by the royals, there are no official photos or videos, but clips have made the rounds on social media of the young princess going on stage with her friends, holding a light-up wand, and playing around in the confetti. Kate, in her off-duty mom style, kept it casual in Boden ballet flats and an ivory blouse from Ghost London.

The sweet mother-daughter outing came ahead of a big week for the royal family: the countdown is on for King Charles's coronation on Saturday, with the newly 8-year-old princess expected to attend along with the rest of her family.
