Kate Middleton and Prince William's Touching Zoom Call Will Warm Your Heart
What do Matthew McConaughey and the Cambridges have in common? Bingo. Kensington Palace released a video of Kate Middleton and Prince William hosting a surprise game of bingo via Zoom. People reports that a nursing home in Wales had the honor of having its bingo game called by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, just like McConaughey did back in April, though he chose a nursing home in his home state of Texas.
Kate and William took turns calling out the numbers for the residents of Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff and the Royal Family shared a few clips on its YouTube channel, giving viewers a peek at Kate's patterned red dress and statement earrings.
"Catherine is going to pick out the first ball," William said as Kate held a ball up to the monitor for the residents, adding, “So, the first number is five and eight, 58."

The game went on as usual, with a few anecdotes to the royal kiddos, including, "George would like this one — five and five, snake's alive," Two little ducks, number two," and even Kate tossing in some old-school bingo jargon, like, "Eight and seven, 87. Six and two, tickety-boo."
In addition to calling the game, Kate and William spoke to the home's healthcare workers, thanking them for their dedication during the coronavirus pandemic and letting them speak about the specific challenges that they're facing. The facility offers residential, dementia, and nursing care, People adds.
"If there's hopefully some positivity that comes out of this horrendous time, it is that there’s a light shone on all of the wonderful things you all do and on the social care sector, and it allows people to acknowledge, respect and appreciate everything that you are doing," William said.
There aren't any details as to whether or not McConaughey was down with the lingo, but his bingo game was a family affair, as well. His wife, wife, Camila, and his mom, Kay, also joined during his surprise call.
