Kate Middleton and Prince William Filmed a Christmas Special With Mary Berry

In news that’s sure to delight Anglophiles and foodies alike, Kate Middleton and Prince William filmed a holiday special with Great British Baking Show alum Mary Berry, set to air in the U.K. in mid-December.

Kensington Palace announced the news via Twitter on Saturday:

Characteristic of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s charitable reputations and work, A Berry Royal Christmas will focus on the trio meeting and working with people supported by British organizations like the Passage Charity and Action on Addiction. According to Kensington Palace’s Twitter, the special “culminates in a Christmas party, hosted by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to thank and acknowledge staff and volunteers from charities and organisations who will be working tirelessly over the Christmas period.”

The mutual presence of Kate Middleton and Mary Berry lends itself to one obvious question: Will they be baking? Middleton is known to love takeout curry (royals—they’re just like us!), but we have a feeling she’d do just fine on the popular baking contest. After all, if she can handle the various responsibilities of being a royal, she can take on Paul Hollywood.

It’s unclear whether A Berry Royal Christmas will air in the U.S., but it premieres in the U.K. on December 16. It would be a little bit of a heartbreak if Americans didn’t get to see the special, but all we can do is ask Santa to stream it on Netflix or Hulu. After all, how can we achieve peak holiday coziness without watching the Duchess of Cambridge make a trifle?
