The love Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared since the early days of their relationship has been long admired by fans of the royal family. The couple's children, however, look at some of their milestone moments less seriously—including their official engagement portraits. According to Entertainment Tonight, Princess Catherine talked with locals during a recent outing in Wales and spotted one of them holding a flag with a familiar photo. "Oh my goodness, is that from our engagement?" she asked.

Princess Catherine said that she and Prince William "always laugh about" the fact that "although we've been married for 11 years, we've been together for double that, so it's extraordinary." Her children also find it funny—and recently noted how different they think she and Prince William looked when they got engaged about 12 years ago. "The children look back at the photos and say, 'Mummy, you look so young!'" said Princess Catherine with a laugh.

The royal couple made their first trip back to the country, which is where they lived as newlyweds, as the official Prince and Princess of Wales just last week. "It's nice coming back to Wales because it was where we lived before we had our family and everything," said Princess Catherine. "So, it's been a really special day."

During their visit, Prince William and Princess Catherine stopped in at the RNLI Holyhead Lifeboat Station to talk with the crew and volunteers. The station was located a few miles away from their former home. Plus, the outing was also similar to the first royal duty Princess Catherine performed alongside Prince William. She helped launch a lifeboat on the island a couple of months before they were married.
