Kate Middleton Just Broke Out an Ornate Beaded Gown to Host a Reception at Buckingham Palace

Something you may not have known? Kate Middleton is a venerable professional when it comes to quick outfit changes.

It’s not just the fact that she can swap out her outfit three times during a royal tour. The 38-year-old Duchess of Cambridge is also game for a quick turnaround on her home turf. Take, for instance, the mom of three’s two very different fashion looks today.

Earlier in the day, the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated Commonwealth Day at a service at Westminster Abbey. She selected a royal rewear for the occasion—a ruby red Catherine Walker coat dress and Gianvito Rossi suede pumps with a new flowered fascinator. She wore her hair up and back with natural makeup that enhanced her eyes and brows.

It was an expertly pulled together look if we do say so ourselves.

Then, the duchess totally switched things up and swapped out her day look for a glitzy beaded number for a reception at Buckingham Palace.

Middleton hosted a dinner gala at Buckingham Palace for the Place2Be organization, which provides emotional support to children with mental health issues from an early age and is celebrating its 25th anniversary. She selected an ornately beaded royal blue Jenny Packham long sleeve pleated gown and silver bedazzled Jimmy Choo heels for the occasion. She even carried a custom clutch that matched the beading of her dress exactly.

Although Middleton wore her freshly cut hair down and curly for her evening reception instead of up like she did at Westminster Abbey, she kept her makeup pretty similar. She did, however, opt for a dusty rose lip gloss that wasn’t present for her day outing.

Leave it to Kate to serve up not one, but two fantastic looks in one day.
