The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child on Monday morning. Hours later, the pair emerged on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London with their second son, whose name has yet to be revealed.

Kensington Palace said that the baby, the couple’s second son, was born at 11:01 GMT and weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

Around 6 p.m. local London time, Kate Middleton was discharged from the hospital and stepped out with her husband their newborn son. The 36-year-old mother to 4-year-old Prince George and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte wore a red shift dress custom designed by Jenny Packham that featured a white lace Peter Pan collar.

This is the third time the royal has looked to Packham to design a look for her first appearance after giving birth. For her debut with her first son on the hospital steps in July 2013, she seemingly paid sartorial tribute to Princess Diana in a custom-made polka dot dress by Jenny Packham.

She also looked to the go-to label following the birth of Princess Charlotte in May 2015, as she chose a sunny yellow shift dress adorned with daffodils.

The duchess seemingly paid a sartorial tribute to Diana yet again with her red frock. When Princess Diana stepped out with her own second son, Prince Harry, for a photo op, she too was in a red dress with a white collar.

Like his older siblings, the couple’s newborn son followed the royal family’s 70-year tradition of being wrapped in a bespoke blanket by G.H. Hurt & Son.
