The Princess of Wales exuded sustainable style in a rented bright green gown for the Earthshot Prize Awards last night.

Kate, 40, wore the striking dress to a star-studded event in Boston, Massachusetts alongside her husband Prince William.

The stunning floor-length look is by British brand Solace London, but the royal mother-of-three acquired the £350 piece from rental company Hurr.

Given the couple's trip to the United States is three days long, it is likely she chose the four-day rental option which would have cost just £74.50.

The princess likewise made a statement with a beautiful emerald and diamond choker worn by her mother-in-law Princess Diana on her 36th birthday in 1997 shortly before her tragic death.

It was created by Garrard in 1921 upon the request of Queen Elizabeth's grandmother Queen Mary, and was given to her as a lifetime loan by the late monarch upon her marriage to Prince Charles.
