  • Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived in Pakistan today for their five-day tour of the country.

  • The Duchess of Cambridge channeled Princess Diana's style with her bespoke aqua-blue ensemble.

Prince William and Duchess Kate arrived at the Pakistani Air Force Base Nur Khan today to kick off their five-day tour of Pakistan, and the Duchess of Cambridge wasted no time paying homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

Kate stepped off the plane wearing a bespoke aqua-blue ombré dress and matching pants by Catherine Walker, one of the duchess' favorite designers. The look was a modern twist on the traditional shalwar kameez, which pairs a loose-fitting tunic with pants.

Diana wore a similar look during her solo visit to Pakistan in 1996. The iconic royal impressed with a light blue top and loose pants during a visit to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Lahore.

Kate had help choosing the head-turning ensemble. According to Vanity Fair, the tour marks the return of her personal assistant and stylist, Natasha Archer, who had been away on maternity leave after giving birth to her son, Theo, late last year.

Archer, who is known as Tash around the palace, has been tasked with pulling outfits for a range of engagements during the couple's tour, which will likely include at least one black-tie reception.

"Tash has spent hours combing through look books with Catherine ahead of the tour and compiling a really beautiful and practical tour wardrobe," a source told the magazine. "There are between one and three outfits planned for each day so that the duchess has options."

We have to say, Tash and Kate are off to a great start.
