Kate Middleton Brings a Romantic Touch To Winter Florals
The Duchess debuted a new frock in a familiar motif.
Kate Middleton’s schedule was packed today. She started the day in an electric blue Seraphine dress to joined Princes William and Harry and royal fiancée Meghan Markle (in a tonally coordinating blue Jason Wu frock) to kick off the first annual Royal Foundation Forum. And the expectant mother didn’t miss a beat at the National Portrait Gallery opening of Victorian Giants: The Birth of Art Photography. Middleton dressed like a work fit for the walls in Orla Kiely’s ruffled, floral print dress designed in collaboration with stylist Leith Clark.
The moody floral print is a familiar motif for Middleton, who in the past has opted for versions from Alexander McQueen, Erdem, and Rochas for day and evening affairs. Tonight’s dress also relied on a favored Middleton silhouette, the long-sleeved dress with ruffles. Skin-toned suede stilettos lengthened her legs, while a coordinating clutch furthered the regal, ladylike effect.
